The U.S. Department of Education will be hosting a conference call with rural school leaders and stakeholders on Thursday, April 11 at 1 pm ET to discuss emergency management, as well as take your questions and comments. Attendees on this conference call will be joined by John White, ED’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Rural Outreach, and David Esquith, ED’s Director of the Office of Safe and Healthy Students and NREA Executive Director John Hill.
The U.S. Department of Education is working with other federal agencies, including the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services, as well as the FBI to implement education-related components of the President’s plan to protect children and communities by reducing gun violence. ED also is working with stakeholders to increase awareness and understanding of federal resources for school safety and emergency management.
