Senator Patty Murray, Chairman of the Senate Budget
Committee, announced today the start of MyBudget, a
new online platform to engage members of the public in the budget process. The
website launched with a call for Americans to share their budget priorities,
stories about how funded programs have affect their lives and their families
and ideas with the budget committee.
Senator Murray’s plan for this new initiative pays homage to the idea that it is through the budget that we identify priority services and the role of the federal government. In the coming months the Budget Committee hopes to develop and launch more tools to allow members of the public to engage in the budget process and help the Senate Budget committee define fiscal priorities.
