No matter who you voted for, we can all be thankful that
there will be no more political ads coming at us from all sides. The election
is over, and President Barack Obama has been reelected. But what does that mean
for his cabinet? We already know that there will be some major changes in the
Obama Administration coming up, but what the education community really wants
to know is this: is Arne Duncan going to remain the Secretary of Education?
It’s possible that the President and Secretary Duncan discussed the possibilities during their Election Day basketball game. Duncan joined the President and Chicago Bulls hall of famer Scottie Pippen for game as part of an Election Day good luck tradition.
Do you think Secretary Duncan will stay on as head of the Obama Administration’s Department of Education? If so, what do you hope to see from Secretary Duncan? If you think we’re due for a new Secretary of Education – who do you think it will be?
We want to hear from you! Leave your ideas in the comments section!
I would really like Arne Duncan to look at the schools that are making a years growth or more with students and not allow for scholarships to occur and take money away from the public school systems. Here in Ohio we are a high performing district yet everyday we give money away to families to go on the Autism Scholarship or the Jon Peterson Scholarship and this makes no sense whatsoever. The funny thing is that most people end up returning to our district bc of the lack of quality instruction, no accountability and no qualified staff. Is there really what our money should be going towards- then we have to catch these kids up!
