Tonight at 9:00pm EST President Barack Obama and Governor
Mitt Romney will face off on domestic policy issues in the first debate of the
campaign. The debate will take place at the University of Denver, in Denver,
Colorado, hosted by Jim Lehrer (host of PBS’s News Hour). The debate will be
split into six 15 minute segments, each dealing with a different domestic
policy issue.
The format of the debate is as follows: the moderator will ask a question and the candidate will have two minutes to respond. The debates will be aired live on C-SPAN, ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, as well as all cable news channels including CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.
Education is a key domestic policy issue that is sure to feature in tonight’s debate. As you can tell from the DNC and RNC platforms, the candidates have very different views on the future of education. Tune in tonight to hear the candidates’ views on education, health care and other domestic issues that affect the lives of special educators and students with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.
