After scheduling a mark up for the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for July 19, 2012, the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations postponed and then rescheduled the mark up for July 26, at 9:30am. This date is also the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Thanks to CEC member advocacy including many letters sent to members of the Senate, the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations persisted in scheduling the mark up despite opposition.
CEC will attend the mark up and continue to keep members apprised of progress made in ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Send your letter to your Senators today and urge them to ratify the UN CRPD.
