CEC members together with the National Association for Gifted Children are answering back by urging Congress to reinstate funding for the Jacob Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Act. Join educators, parents, and researchers from across the country in standing up for high-ability students! Taking action is easy and fast using CEC’s Legislative Action Center.
Thankfully, Congressman Courtney (D-CT) and Congressman Gallegly (R-CA) have taken a stand against cutting funding for the Javits program by asking members of Congress to sign on to a letter opposing this elimination. The Courtney-Gallegly letter must have broad support for it to be effective. Ask your Representative to sign on to the Courtney-Gallegly letter today!
A Request…
Please share with CEC any specific examples of how the Javits program has benefited students, teachers, and schools – including stories about how Javits projects have been scaled up after the completion of the grant or how information has been disseminated to school districts who may not have been a direct Javits recipient by emailing: pubpol@cec.sped.org
CEC will continue to provide regular updates as new information becomes available.
